Ride The Storm, Like A Boss! ????

I believe Man is the most resilient creature to be created. We often survive much more than we think we can survive. We often skip past the hardest of hurdles life brings our way. We go through difficult spells in life and yet we bounce back again like it never happened.

Casualties of war are able to pick themselves up, People with severe illnesses being able to get back to their regular life, refugees who have lost family and everything else are able to rebuild themselves, bankrupts are able to pick themselves up again and build successful businesses.

We survive not only the scariest of challenges but also survive in the hardest of places. Wherever we find ourselves, we find a way to exist, whether it be in water, out of space, jungles of south America, the wastes of the arctic, anywhere! You name it. We often find a way to exist, survive and withstand anything without losing our disposition.

The truth is, Life is an adventure. You never know what’s coming your way. I often describe it as the most suspense filled movie ever. You can’t find spoilers. You’ve just gotta go with the flow. One day you can be rich and famous, and the next you’re battling a severe court case that could cost your family and business, shaved off all dignity.

If there’s one thing the stories of Nigerians has taught me is this: If an area boy can wake up every morning, under a bridge, with absolutely no knowledge of how his day is going to turn out, what he’s going to eat, whether he’s gonna get killed, hustling, stealing and doing all he can to stay alive, then why can’t we?

“The Ultimate measure of man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenges and controversy.”

Martin Lurther King Jr.

It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, there’s someone out there who’s going through worse, and they’re surviving. They wake up each day, and they give this life thing another go. Don’t ever think anyone has their life figured out and you don’t. No one has lived twice. Everyone is doing life for the first time, so it’s fine to not have it all figured out. When we started life, no one handed us a handbook on how to live it.
No matter what life throws at us, we must learn to ride the storm like a boss.

I personally have been through hell and back in the past few months but my resolute has always been the same – Amma ride this storm like a boss.

In a masochist (biggest word I’ve ever used) kind of way, I love it when things go wrong in my life. Why? You can read my post on the beauty of trails. You must understand that until you’re broken, you don’t know what you’re made of. It gives you the ability to build yourself all over again, stronger and even better.

“If you aren’t in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?”

Life isn’t for the faint-hearted. You wouldn’t be here if you weren’t strong enough. There’s always a way out of every problem, you just probably haven’t found it yet. So reassess your situation, keep working, keep searching, keep riding. Don’t give up!

In this day and age, challenges will never stop throwing itself at you. There will even be acts of God which we have no control over, but it’s no reason to quit. Now is never a good time to quit.
They say it’s never over till the fat lady sings. As far as I’m concerned she can sing till she burns all the fat in her because I’ll always believe it’s never over.
